Coronation, Arts Day, Feast & Masked Ball

Aug 19 2006 - 9:00am
Aug 19 2006 - 10:00pm

Alfalfa Keep

Coronation is to be a great celebration. A time to feast and make merry. To teach and to learn.

There will be no combat at this event as the focus is THE ARTS! There are to be many demonstrations, classes, and artisans plying their trade. There will be prize tournaments and gaming galore. There will be music and singing, so bring your instruments, drums, lyrics, etc for entertainment during the feast. There will be a formal court, a feast, and a mask ball.

Since the dark times arts have been all but shunned by many of us. It is time that an end was put to this once and for all. This event is meant to show that arts should be foremost in our minds.

Anyone wishing to teach a class or put on a demonstration please contact the Duke.

Anyone wishing to perform formally should also contact the Duke.

Craftsmen wishing to work their trade need only bring what they need and set up.

The Duke will be providing two 20x10 pavillions, two 10x10 pavillions, and one 12x10 pavillions for use as shade.

The Duke would like to set up the sight much like a faire. Everywhere you look their should be activity. The noises of bards and blacksmiths at work.

The kitchen will be primarily used for feast preparation. Please bring food items in a cooler as the fridge will probably be full. The Keep also has 2 gas grills available for cooking.

The feast will be a partial Potluck. There is a $3.00 fee to cover the main dish and dessert. Please bring a side dish to share. Let's try to stay away from really mundane items (like chips) and think medievally at the grocery store or stove. Smiling Anything from the mid-1500's would be a boon! Other suggested items are:
Bread 8 loaves
Butter 2 lbs
Medieval Salad (the leafy kind, not iceburg lettuce)
Cheese
Wine
Hummus
Grapes

Meatballs
Rice dishes
Couscous
