Lady Rhiannon uerch Hughes
Minister of Education, Canton Urar Tiene
Physicker, Canton Urar Tiene
Matron of the House of Orga Mac Tire
Holder of the Star of Adria awarded at Imperial Banner War, 2008
Welsh born widow of a landed Irish gentleman. Highly educated for a woman, she focuses on the education, care and comfort of those in her charge.
Born to the family of a minor noble in Wales, she met an Irish gentleman who was visiting her father. A reknowned scholar, he recognized that she was unusually bright and outspoken for a woman. As he was a widower for a number of years, they fell in love, married and he made a point of teaching her all he knew. Sharing his extensive library, he also taught their son. When he died, his children by his first wife inherited the properties and estates that had provided for Rhiannon and her son. The two of them were forced to travel and seek a new home. After a period of wandering, they reached Adria. They found it to be a warm and welcoming land, and eventually were taken into the care of the House of Orga Mac Tire. Recognizing her clever mind and caring ways, the Lord of the house eventually placed her in charge of the care of his house and the education and supervision of the young in his absence. Thus, although merely a widow, she obtained a place of respect and responsiblity. After being awarded the Star of Adria in recognition of her efforts to support and contribute to Alhambra, she regained her former title of Lady.
