Spokane Highland Games Demo

Spokane Highland Games (www.spokanehighlandgames.org) has requested us back to do the Shoot the English Knight demo. This is a demo where we sell 4 combat arrows (or javelins, if available) for $1.00. Then the public gets to loose the arrows at our combatants in armor.

Combat arrows, taunting knights and lots of fun for all.

Last year we provided a Shoot the English Knight Demo (patterned after Shoot the Knight that we do at Colfax's Concrete River Days), which was a HUGE sucess. Not only was it a great fundraiser for the Duchy, it was a very enjoyable activity for kids and adults attending the Highland Games. We had over 200 people come thru our demo alone! The Games management loved it too, and we were immediately asked to come back this year.

We will repeat the demo we did last year, along with having an info booth. We will also need period items or Adria equipment to display at the info booth.

Everyone in the Duchy is welcome to assist and we will need several people for each station:
Archery Coach (2-4 to trade off)
Money Handler (2 to trade off)
Combatants in armor(4-6 to trade off - hot weather)
Info Table assistants (2-4 to trade off)
Water bearers for combatants (2 to trade off)

We are uncertain where we will be located, but it's somewhere near the Stage area.

There is a ceilidh (KAY-lee) after the Games at 5. It's a big party and dance. If the weather is more cooperative and we aren't dead tired, that might be
fun.

Westbound, take Broadway Exit 286 off I-90

Regular Admission Prices: (We will have tickets for the Demo participants)
$8 Adults
$5 Seniors over 60 & Youth 11- 17 years old
$3 Child 5- 10 years old
Free 4 years and under

Ample parking for everyone: $1.00 per vehicle.

Fairground regulations do not allow dogs, pets or other animals on the Spokane County Fair and Expo grounds, except:
• Service dogs;
• Animals involved in exhibitions sanctioned by the Games Committee.
