Doom Solig, son of Thorkin Solig, son of Lars Solig, son of Havik Ersson, was born south of the Finnmark in the northern reaches of Scandinavia. His grandfather was a Christian convert from Lund , Scania who fought the Anglo Saxons at London on the side of the Cnut. His father Jarl Thorkin Solig was killed by an Anglo arrow putting down a rebellion in 1045 in England on behalf of Hardecnut, King of England and Denmark.
Doom found much wealth in the exporting of sable, antlers, reindeer hides and walrus hide ropes. He built a fleet of knorrs and longships which took him not only to Iceland and the Isles but down the Volga as far as Itil and the lands of the Khazars. His world in turmoil he turned to wars and raids after the death of his first wife Fjorda and his son Thorkin the Younger.
It was war that took him to Scotland where he met his future wife Seraphine, an Irish woman living among the Scots. It was here in these Scottish hills his mother, Freya McAlpin was raised outside of Oban so he sought shelter from the wars and raids to winter there. He eventually took Seraphine as his wife and returned to the Finnmark to once again merchant furs and timbers. Though his father and grandfather were Christian converts, Doom was a follower of the old ways having lived in his youth among the Sami people.
In 1066 he fought in the battle of the two Erik's on the side of Erik the Pagan. Both future kings were killed in the battle. In the void of power an evil king came to be and once again Doom found himself embattled in wars. In one such battle he sought the aid of mercenaries led by the Capitaine E'xavier de Normandie forming a friendship that would last for the end of his years. The war was victorious and he returned to his homeland and the evil king in power. His once peaceful mountains and fjords were filled with much contempt and deception. The loki-spawn filled the hearts and minds of the villagers with much evil, an evil so wicked it can not be spoken.
One day his ships sailed to the Duchy of Alhambra, the land of his ally Capitaine E'xavier de Normandie. He found the hills of the eastern lands much like his homeland in the Finnmark and there along with other refugees of war torn lands they founded the canton of Gaeth Fionn. It is there he resides with his wife Seraphine MacLaren.
