Getting your gear together for a Feast can be a daunting task. Here's a list of items to help you shop. Thrift Stores are wonderful for finding a lot of these items.
Be aware that packing your feastgear around may not make it practical to have items that are breakable. Also, wooden items can hold bacteria and must be washed well, but cannot go into a dishwasher or it removes the finish.
The Basics
Plates: Wood or metal. The metal plates from steak houses work well.
Cups: Metal or ceramic goblets. Glass was found in period but was less common.
Bowls: Wood or ceramic. Metal usually gets too hot to be comfortable to use.
Silverware: Large spoons and 3 tined forks with a steak knife. A small-medium knife on your belt is common as an eating dagger as well.
The Table
Tablecloths: Any chunk of fabric works. Coarse weaves and natural colors are very nice, but you can also use tapestries, tartans, paisleys or stripes if it fits with your character's culture.
Candles/Lanterns: Any candelabra or candlestick is fine for indoors, but frequently we are outdoors and dealing with fire restrictions and/or wind. Covered candle lanterns are a great multi-purpose choice.
