Having lived thru several incarnations Sir Cryspin MacMorrigu, Sergeant Abbot Cryspin II of the Kirk o Còlan (Scottish for Iglesia de los Soldados) known better as Abbot Cryspin or to his friends and peers as Abbot Crispy, resides at Battle Abby somewhere Northwest of Scotland and like his older incarnations spends his time taking care of his crows and plotting war anywhere and everywhere.
It was durring the dark misty or burning times (sometime in the late 11th or early 21th century) that Seargent Cryspen De Trey Corbyn first heard of the lands we now know as Alhambra Adria. Working as a blacksmith and bladesmith in the village of Pleasance located to the north of England he was approached by a strange noble who bought one of his blades and asked him leave his work and to join the Duchy Caerleon.
Sensing things were not quite right Cryspen stayed at the smithy in Pleasance working. He was however a first hand witness to the war Scots Raid II in the fall of the last year of the Duchy Caerleon. It was here where he first met the soon to be new Duke and Duchess, Sir Mickos Douglas and Dame Amara vai'Datha. Cryspen even had a small discussion with Dame Amara about the heraldry on his ancient battle banner. Joining the duchy in the spring Sergeant Cryspen squired to Duke Mikcos and formed the house Northwestminster.
Upon hearing of the Prophet Warhammer it is thought that Cryspen exclamed: "Credo quia absurdum(I believe because it is absurd)." but that was later attributed to the Christian churchman Tertullian. None the less along with "War what else!" "'Credo quia absurdum' " is a motto of Clan MacMorrigu, the Scottish clan that formed when Cryspen embraced The Great Queen Morrigu.
Squire Cryspen was Knighted by the Duke and Duchess soon after becomming Abbot of Iglesia de los Soldados. The Abbot Sir Cryspen considered squiring the most important service he had ever taken. The first step in serious knighthood is the vow taken to squire...a duty to learn and serve. This vow, your first, when taken with your whole heart never leaves you. A squire is someone who waits on or tends to or attends to the needs of another. A Squiring Knight takes this to a deeper level devoting their very knighthood in service to others.
At that knighting Sir Cryspen recieved the Squiring Knights belt. Since that time all monks and nuns of Battle Abbey are duty bound to learn and teach the principles of Squiring and Knighthood. A short while after this knighting Abbot Cryspen died in peace in his bed.
Perhaps it was being knighted by a naked viscountess that unhinged the next abbot of Battle Abbey because it was soon after that Abbot Sir Cryspii MacMorrigu began to foster War as the only practical solution to disagreements. Doing so he often was at odds with the Estates who wanted a more safe and political solution to things.
In doing his best to force the new young duke to war on the Lord Chancellor for taking over the duchy when the duke was absent Abbot Cryspii came afoul of them both and subsequently had them both put in chains. When the young Duke won the war the chains were turned into the golden chains of their respective offices.
Later after a foiled attempt to overthrow this same duke the abbot died...it was claimed by some that he was murdered for his views. But the most reliable version of the story is that while trying to mount his new war horse for battle the old monk stepped on his cassock tripping himself in such a manner that he fell on his sword and promply died.
The present Abbott as Cryspin II Esq. stayed outlaw for about a year and then (seeing the error of his ways)went into religious seclusion...meditating a while longer until making peace with the young Duke. And thus was knighted by his Grace soon after as Sir Cryspin "Break Bow" MacMorrigu. He remained loyal to the Duke thru the rest of his reign. In hope of "prophetable" War, both as Abbot and Thane, Sir Cryspin has made alliance with the New Crowns.
